When to meet in person

When do you think it's good to go from talking with someone online to meeting them in person. Is there a good marker to determine when that should happen?

I don't think it is a set time, I would definitely get to know someone as much as I could beforehand and then trust my instincts to know when it is the right time. I would do it in a public place though because you never know.

I would think you just need to be comfortable with meeting them and know enough about them to be certain you aren't going to put yourself in a bad position.
