    Default Music

Have you ever been on a date and turned on the radio and had your date tell you they can't stand the kind of music you listen to? I have a friend who listens to music genres that her husband doesn't like and they argue over it all the time. Are you that picky about the music you listen to?

I think having differences should be fine. No two people are going to like the exact same things all the time. Similarities are few and far between in some people's lifestyles.

Fortunately, that has never happened to me. I've been lucky enough where the majority of the people i've dated have either liked my music or had enough manners to keep their comments to themselves.

Wow! That's so rude. I can't imagine anyone just out and out stating this to the person they were with. That's terrible. Especially on an early date!

Based on Claria's post, the argument was between a husband and his wife. From my opinion, couples who have been together for a long time could express themselves freely. But we should try to refrain ourselves from expressing things that will offend our date, especially on the first date.

I don`t usually date someone who doesn`t like the same type of music as me. This is why. When I was 19 I lived with a guy for 2 years. I like country and he liked heavy metal. We didn`t make of course. Not because of the music but it really did put something between us. Riding in the car, going to concerts. Being that young neither one would budge lol. I don`t know how we made it for 2 years. I met up with him again about 20 years later. We went out and took our kids with us. It was nice seeing him again but we both agreed we would not have made a good couple. And he still liked heavy metal and I still liked country lol.

Actually I think that not expressing your true self on a first date or first few dates would be even worse than doing so immediately. I do not like to be mislead to think someone has one set personality and later find out it is exact opposite.
