If you've used a dating service, would you mind sharing your success stories, if you've had any. I've thought about using them but always backed off because I just don't know how trustworthy they are.

I haven't had any luck personally, but I have a friend who met his wife through Yahoo Personals. They started chatting online about 3 years ago and waited about 4 or 5 months before they actually met in person. Ever since that first meeting, they have been madly in love. They got married last winter and are very, very happy.

If you're UK based, http://www.movecloseronline.co.uk is pretty good. Party Face (kind of like Facebook v1) was ok at first but turned into a huge teenager hell.
