First date - like a job interview?
Don't know how many of you have heard the Seinfeld routine where he says a first date is like a prolonged job interview. After listening to him, I thought there was some truth in what he says. You always put your best foot forward and try to impress your date. Don't you think that's true?
-
Absolutely. There was a lot of truth to all of the Seinfeldisms on dating. I still watch the reruns now and then and it cracks me up because the stuff that they make fun of is just so true.
-
Lol. I never thought of that. It is true though because you ask so many questions of each other. That`s funny. Now when I go out again I`m gonna start laughing when the questions start lol.
-
I've seen that episode and it cracks me up every time I watch it. Now that I think about it, I really do try to impress the person I'm dating with my behavior and the way I dress. The only thing missing is my work history. LOL
-
I didn`t see that show. But a first date or even the second date does seem similar to an interview. So many questions lol. Maybe we could make up a questionare for each other. lol.
-
I never thought about this until now. We do try to impress our dates with our accomplishments. I think dating is really like applying for a job. You are applying for a space in the heart of your date.

This is so true! It's funny it made me think of a movie I just saw recently called The Ugly Truth with Gerard Butler and Katherine Heigl. There is a part of the movie where she goes on a date through one of the dating sites and she pulls out the guy's profile her assistant printed out and starts questioning him-it was really a funny movie!

Everyone agreed on the point that dating is like a job interview. What if you found out just one thing that you don't like about that person, say maybe his religion? Are you going to forfeit all the good things that can be found in his resume and deny his application?
-
I think that it would depend for me. If religion (or whatever it was) was one of my non-negotiables, then I would not budge on it. I have a list of 5 things that are most important and if someone doesn't have those 5 things, then they're out of play.
