Local Lock & Key Parties

These parties seem to be making a comeback in larger cities. The idea is so retro but it also seems like a good way to meet people.

How it works, for those of you who do not know, the women are usually given a necklace with a lock and the guys are given a key. The entire night you have to mingle with people and try and find your match, the key to your lock or lock to your key.

I would love to attend one of these parties or even host one myself.

Has anyone here ever been to one?

I have never heard of this idea before, but it sounds kind of interesting. Does the host match up people who are appropriate for one another or is it a random thing?

I think it is totally random. I think this is how a lot of parties were done back in the 1950's and 1960's. I think it's good to do it randomly because you never know who your "match" may be. I can not think of a better way to be forced to mingle with people.
