Blind Dates

Have anyone tried blind dating?

I tried this once when I was in college, I was very desperate to have a girlfriend that time. mIRC chatting was popular that time. I chatted with this girl which lives in the next town. We have been chatting for a while and finally asks her for date, which she agreed. To make the story short, when we already met, I was disappointed because her description of herself is not what I have expected. Since then, I never went to a blind date.

I did this one time and never again! The guy was just so not my type and I felt like we had nothing to talk about whatsoever! I would rather meet someone who has some of the same interests as me that at least I knew I was going to have something in common with.

I had no idea people still go out on blind dates. The reserved side of me says this is too risky. The adventurous side of me says try it once.

I have never personally heard of a successful blind date and I doubt I would be the exception.

Yeah, I've done this twice in my life. My best friend once set me up and the date didn't work out. Another time, a relative set me up and it was all right but I never went out with the person again. After those two experience, I vowed, never again.

To me, a true blind date is when someone sets you up and the most contact you have with the date prior to meeting is a phone call to arrange it. I think a real blind date is an old fashioned concept and most people don't do this anymore.
