Default Active Dates...alternatives to dinner and a movie!

I am quite a shy person, hence the name, but I know I have to step out of my comfort zone to get out there and date.

Thus, I know dinner and a movie would only enable my shyness, so I need some ideas for active dates so I would be literally forced to talk instead of sit in silence watching a movie.

I am thinking of things like hiking or paintballing; are those good date ideas?

    Any suggestions would be appreciated!

I think this is a good idea and kudos to you for realizing you need to get away from the traditional way of doing things to be successful with dating. I think hiking and paint balling are great! I think miniature golf is good too! Pick something you are good at or something he's good at so he can show you how to do it correctly or you can show him.

    Have fun!

There are so many other ways to have dates that both of you will become active. I will list some of what I have done on my previous dates: go-cart racing, going to the zoo, visiting art gallery, riding in amusement parks, and window shopping (I guess this is what ladies like best). There are many other ways where you can have a date while having fun.

I like Maximus' idea of going to an amusement park. The reason I like it is because you can kind of break out of your shyness as you walking around and get on rides that you really like. If you like rollercoasters and you scream and laugh when you ride them, it shows you date that aspect of your personality.

I can't remember the name of it, but a while back I saw a commercial for a place that is like Chucky Cheese for adults. I think it's a chain in the south, but, depending on where you live, maybe there is something similar in your area. I thought it was a neat idea because adults usually love going to the places for kids, but this has more grown up type of games and activities.

Are you talking about Dave and Busters, Sadie?

That's a good idea! Along with the other ideas everyone else has posted. These are all good places to start and would give me the perfect opportunity to show my personality.

Is it a good thing that I am getting excited about this?

I've been to Dave and Busters, and it might be fun for a date, but you won't get to talk too much as the atmosphere is pretty loud. You could also white water raft, go tubing, or go cosmic bowling (always fun with the lights and teens!) :)

I say do whatever you enjoy. I love that you want to step outside your comfort zone. How about bowling, it's fun, active and there are loads of other people around. Ice skating in the winter is fun too, as well as roller skating (or blading) in the summer.
