Default Letting friends set you up?

Have you ever let a friend set you up? I have and it was a disaster. Your friends are supposed to know you right? Well this guy was awful! No one I would have picked for myself. It was a short date needless to say.

I did this once and it was not a good idea. It was not so much the person would not have been a good fit, it was that my friend felt entitled to know every detail about my interactions with this person because they "brought" us together.

Yes I have and the first time I ended up with the guy for three years, oddly, he hit on the friend that got us together (along with her sister) which is the reason we split. I have never done it again.

I have never done this, but I have never had friends as an adult that I knew really good. I think if I had a really good friend that knew my morals and values, and what interested me then I probably would do this.

My friends haven't tried to set me up, but they have given me dating advice before and it hasn't turned out well. Based on that, I think I would decline if they offered to set me up. I know they mean well, but I don't think they really "get" what it is I'm looking for.

No Way! My friends would set me up with the wrong type of women. I'm looking for a long term relationship and I'm sure they would set me up for quick fun! I have tried it a couple of times, neither time was worth it.

I tried it once-- my landlords set me up with someone. It was funny and the guy was nice, but he wasn't quite what I was looking for. Unfortunately, it was at a pretty crazy time for me, so I wasn't as nice about letting go as I'd have liked to have been.

I've done this twice in my life and both times it was a disaster. Once was by my best friend and the other time was by my niece. After the second time, I vowed never again.

I tried this a few times too. I was younger and divorced. My problem was that I liked him and he didn`t like me lol. I would do it again because I am much smarter about the dating thing now than I was then.

My friends, which are quite few, never tried setting me up. They know my preference about girls but they leave the selection to me. What they do is just to tell their observation about the girl that I'm dating.
