Friends First

Do you believe in being friends first? I think it is important that you like the other person, otherwise what will you have to talk about when the new passion wears off? What do you think?

I agree. If someone is meant to be your partner for life then they also need to be your friend. You have to genuinely like your partner as a person and he/she should be the first person you turn to in good times and bad.

I made the mistake when I was younger of jumping right into a relationship. I was a very jealous person. Now that I am older I see the best thing to do is to be friends first and date others too. You really have to get to know each other before being in a commited relationship. Otherwise if you were or are like I was you get hurt a lot.
