When you are on a date both people are trying to impress each other. You are picking up vibes to see whether you are compatible. Although this is the first time you’ve seen this tendency for most people is to shrug off something that feels uncomfortable.

When your gut is mildly telling you that this is not a person you want a second date with it is wise to listen. There could be something you picked up unconsciously that you will think about later after the glamour of the date has worn off.

If everything went along well up until this time, and you want to give out your number it’s best to give out the cell phone number, you still don’t know this individual and they can be a charmer. Most people only have a cell phone these days so it will not be unusual.

As you are talking on the phone if you feel anything strange, this is another reason not to go forward. It may be something they said or it may just be a feeling you get. If the individual calls you many times in one day when they can’t immediately reach you, it’s time to not only walk away, but it may also be a time to change your cell phone number.

After the first date if you find it difficult to get in touch with the individual again this could mean a couple of things. You could be calling someone who is married so they can only call you at certain times, or it could be that he or she doesn’t want to be bothered.

Don’t take this personally because this happens to many people. Instead, just ignore it and move on. You can’t make someone like you and even if the date went really well it doesn’t meant that the two of you will date again. Go back to the online dating pool and try again.

If he or she wants you to meet the family right away this may also be a reason not to step ahead. This may means that your date really wants to get married. This may not be your intention especially from a first date and you might want to continue online dating.

If he or she seems to be too picky about what they want, this may be a reason not to go forward after the first date. Being too picky means that they have expectations that no one could fulfill. This person could be more problem than they are worth.

A final note is that online dating is supposed to be fun. If you are dating anyone who makes you feel strange, unsafe or compromised in any fashion, it is a good idea not to move ahead with this person.
